Middletown Emergency Medical Services, Inc. Begins Operations in Middletown Township.

Middletown’s Emergency Medical Services are now being augmented by the addition of a newly formed paid ambulance service, Middletown Emergency Medical Services, Inc. or MEMS.  MEMS is a non-profit organization formed by the five volunteer First Aid Squads of Middletown Township and will be the primary organization dispatched to respond to EMS calls during its hours of operation on weekdays.  Volunteer Squads will supplement MEMS during the day and will continue to be the initial providers dispatched during weeknights and weekends.  MEMS is governed by a board of directors comprised of an unpaid member from each of the five volunteer Squads.

Anyone treated by MEMS will be billed for the care provided to them; however, the costs incurred are commonly covered by most health insurance plans. Any deductibles or co-pays will be the responsibility of the treated party. The revenue generated from billing will be used to cover operating expenses (e.g., salaries, supplies, insurance) and for equipment upgrades and replacement.

If you need more information, please contact MEMS at info@memsinc.org.
